General Data Protection Regulations (2016)
New data protection regulations state very clear principles that make sure everyone's data is kept safe. These principles include:
  • the process of getting and using the data is simple to understand
  • the data is used only for the purpose it is collected for
  • the data is kept no longer than is necessary
  • the data is kept secure

Bovingdon Baptist Church has policies that explain how these principles are applied for its different groups.
Youth Group
Consent forms - this data is for the sole use of the BBC youth team. It is to be used in an emergency, for contacting families about programmed events, and for passing on other information about the youth work. It will not be used by the church for other purposes or passed on to a third party without consent.

This data is kept securely both electronically (password protected) and on paper (when engaged in offsite activities). All data about a young person is destroyed when they reach 18 years of age, unless Safeguarding legislation requires specific information to be kept longer.

As a parent, you will need to review and sign this data annually, to ensure medical records are kept up to date. Any concerns or queries, please contact the church via the website. If you are
still unhappy you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioners Office.
